來華留學(xué)生視角下的學(xué)位課程全英語教學(xué):實(shí)踐、方法與挑戰(zhàn)

在許多母語非英語的國家中,高等教育機(jī)構(gòu)往往采用全英語教學(xué)模式(EMI)。盡管EMI越來越普及,但是,由于使用外語授課而產(chǎn)生的挑戰(zhàn),許多人質(zhì)疑這種教學(xué)方式的有效性。以往大多數(shù)研究主要聚焦于本族語學(xué)生和教師,回溯他們的經(jīng)歷并評價(jià)特定國家全英語教學(xué)模式的狀況。關(guān)于中國全英語教學(xué)模式的研究也相對具體、尚有局限。目前,還沒有通過跨機(jī)構(gòu)的調(diào)查,從外國留學(xué)生的視角來評價(jià)學(xué)位課程全英語教學(xué)模式的研究。本研究在中國杭州7所高等教育機(jī)構(gòu)中展開調(diào)查,調(diào)查對象為隨機(jī)選擇的98名全英語學(xué)位課程的國際學(xué)生。調(diào)查時間為2019年3月至6月,主要采用問卷調(diào)查和半結(jié)構(gòu)式訪談?wù){(diào)查國際生的態(tài)度。在調(diào)查研究中,研究者主要聚焦教學(xué)方法的挑戰(zhàn)、原因以及相應(yīng)的解決方式?傮w上來說,大部分調(diào)查對象表示:希望看到老師在教學(xué)過程中使用更多且更好的英語,提供更多的解釋和案例,定期與學(xué)生進(jìn)行有效的交流以及增加課堂的互動性。
