布迪厄社會學(xué)視角下加里·史耐德英譯寒山詩研究

寒山詩一度處于中國傳統(tǒng)詩歌領(lǐng)域無人問津的邊緣地帶,直到1958年美國著名詩人加里·史耐德翻譯了寒山詩二十四首。該譯本一經(jīng)出版便在美國廣為流傳,并引起了很大的反響。盡管目前學(xué)術(shù)界對史耐德寒山詩英譯本的研究不少,但是從社會學(xué)角度切入的研究并不多。在眾多的社會學(xué)理論中,翻譯研究者們使用頻率最高的是法國著名社會學(xué)家布迪厄提出的社會學(xué)理論.因為該理論同時將客觀的社會因素和主觀的個人因素結(jié)合起來進行研究。本文基于布迪厄提出的社會學(xué)理論,以寒山詩二十四首為分析語料,采用定性分析和案例分析方法,分別從場域、慣習(xí)和資本三個角度考察史耐德寒山詩二十四首英譯本在美國從最初的譯本選擇,到譯者翻譯再到被美國讀者接受的譯介過程。本文有以下研究意義和發(fā)現(xiàn):第一,本文有望為寒山詩英譯研究提供了一個新的理論視角,也為日后中國文學(xué)走出去提供參考和指導(dǎo)。第二,通過探究該譯作在美國贏得眾多讀者青睞的原因發(fā)現(xiàn),寒山詩詩歌主題與風(fēng)格與美國當(dāng)時文學(xué)場域和社會背景相符合;譯者個人翻譯慣習(xí)決定了他選擇24首寒山詩進行翻譯并且在翻譯實踐中巧妙使用翻譯方法,既保證了譯作原汁原味的風(fēng)格又滿足了美國當(dāng)?shù)刈x者的文學(xué)需求;同時,譯者史耐德?lián)碛泻芨叩?..
