　　隨著中國(guó)經(jīng)濟(jì)的飛速發(fā)展,增強(qiáng)中國(guó)文化軟實(shí)力的需要日漸增強(qiáng)。為了實(shí)現(xiàn)這個(gè)目標(biāo),越來越多的中國(guó)當(dāng)代文學(xué)作品的英文版問世,然而,很多譯作在英語世界的接受度不是很高。鑒于這個(gè)現(xiàn)象,對(duì)在英語讀者中接受度相對(duì)較好的譯作進(jìn)行研究能給我們提供一些啟示。美國(guó)漢學(xué)家白睿文所譯長(zhǎng)篇小說《長(zhǎng)恨歌》在英語讀者中頗受好評(píng),本研究從翻譯社會(huì)學(xué)的角度進(jìn)行分析,將這部譯作放在宏觀社會(huì)環(huán)境中進(jìn)行研究,試圖揭示哪些社會(huì)因素促成了其成功。本研究使用在翻譯研究中采用最為普遍的社會(huì)學(xué)理論——右迪厄的社會(huì)學(xué)理論,系統(tǒng)分析《長(zhǎng)恨歌》翻譯所處的場(chǎng)域、涉及到的資本及白睿文的慣習(xí),并在此基礎(chǔ)上進(jìn)一步探討這三者如何相互作用,共同影響白睿文的文本選擇、翻譯策略及譯本出版。研究發(fā)現(xiàn),第一,《長(zhǎng)恨歌》是在對(duì)譯者和譯本不利的文化和翻譯場(chǎng)域中翻譯的;第二,資本,尤其是原作的象征資本及白睿文的文化和象征資本賦予他更大權(quán)力,利于他做出各種決策;第三,在白睿文的教育和翻譯經(jīng)歷中,他形成了自己獨(dú)特的慣習(xí),即重視翻譯中的文學(xué)價(jià)值再現(xiàn)和忠實(shí)性與可讀性的平衡;第四,場(chǎng)域、資本和白睿文的慣習(xí)相互作用,對(duì)《長(zhǎng)恨歌》的翻譯共同產(chǎn)生影響。其中,豐厚的資本和白睿文的慣習(xí)促使...
