《大腦使用指南》(第五章)翻譯報告

【摘要】:本文是一篇翻譯項目報告。翻譯項目所選取的翻譯材料為約翰·瑞迪(John Ratey)于2002年出版的心理學通俗讀物《大腦使用指南》(AUser’s Guide to the Brain)中的第五章“記憶的奧秘”(Memory)。本書延續(xù)了本書作者一貫的寫作風格,由生動有趣的例子入手,順利將話題引入到心理學中,同時利用通俗易懂、簡明扼要的語言對生理心理學中較為艱深的醫(yī)學和心理學知識及研究實例進行說明。原章節(jié)的主要內(nèi)容是與記憶相關(guān)的一系列的話題討論、概念闡述及研究事例分析。本報告的主要內(nèi)容分為四個部分。第一,翻譯項目介紹,包括翻譯該心理學通俗讀物的的背景、目標、意義及該翻譯項目的實施過程概況。第二部分,對原文文本的分析及翻譯前的準備,主要包括對原文作者背景的了解及參閱中英文同類書籍,并對翻譯中所運用的指導理論——尤金·奈達的“功能對等”理論進行了基本概述。第三部分,,翻譯難點及翻譯策略運用總結(jié)。對在該章節(jié)的翻譯過程中所出現(xiàn)的重點詞匯進行分類總結(jié),探討其中隱含的某種規(guī)律。本文中將主要對專有名詞,修辭動詞,一詞多義動詞和形容詞、副詞的難點詞匯進行探討,并對各種詞匯在翻譯中的策略進行了總結(jié)。第四部分,總結(jié)在翻譯過程中所得到的啟發(fā)、教訓和仍待解決的問題。
[Abstract]:This article is a translation project report. The translation materials selected for the project are chapter 5, "Mystery of memory," (Memory). In (AUser's Guide to the Brain), a popular psychological book published by John Reddy (John Ratey) in 2002. This book continues the author's consistent style of writing, starting with vivid and interesting examples, successfully introducing topics into psychology and making use of ease of understanding. Brief and concise language to explain the more difficult medical and psychological knowledge and research examples in physiological psychology. The main contents of the original chapter are a series of topics related to memory, conceptual elaboration and case study. The main content of this report is divided into four parts. First, the introduction of the translation project, including the background, objectives, significance and implementation of the translation project. The second part, the analysis of the original text and the preparation before translation, mainly includes the understanding of the background of the original author and the reference to the similar books in both Chinese and English. This paper also gives a basic overview of Eugene Nida's "functional equivalence" theory, which is the guiding theory used in translation. The third part is a summary of translation difficulties and translation strategies. The key words appeared in the translation of this chapter are classified and summarized, and the implicit rules are discussed. This paper mainly discusses the difficult words of proper nouns, rhetorical verbs, polysemous verbs, adjectives and adverbs, and summarizes the strategies of translating various words. The fourth part summarizes the enlightenments, lessons and problems that remain to be solved in the process of translation.
