意識形態(tài)對中文外譯的操縱—《一代宗師》英法譯本對比研究

【摘要】:王家衛(wèi)的影片《一代宗師》在國內和國際都贏得了一致好評和高度贊譽,影片臺詞本身具有很強的研究價值。本文選取《一代宗師》中文臺詞的英法兩個譯本,試圖通過操縱理論分析兩個譯本所運用的不同翻譯手法、操縱力度以及操縱背后的意識形態(tài)原因。本文選取了較新的翻譯理論進行研究,即基于巴斯奈特文化轉向觀理論的翻譯操縱理論。翻譯操縱理論由巴斯奈特和勒菲弗爾于二十世紀九十年代后提出,打破了以往傳統(tǒng)的忠實/背叛二元對立的翻譯觀點,為翻譯研究提供了全新的視角。本論文也希望通過對《一代宗師》字幕英法譯本的實例分析,讓更多的翻譯愛好者了解、運用這一理論;同時,我們也利用這一理論展示英法語言背后的文化和意識形態(tài)差異,為豐富個人的文化視野,促進多元文化觀點盡綿薄之力。本文共分四章,第一章是論文簡介,主要引入研究的背景,讓讀者了解本論文的研究目的和意義,以及清晰地了解論文的行文框架。第二章是理論框架和文獻綜述,理論框架詳細地介紹了操縱理論產(chǎn)生的背景和基礎、勒菲弗爾和巴斯奈特對該理論的貢獻、理論的具體內容以及應用和影響。文獻綜述部分搜集和分析前人對字幕翻譯的研究情況以及操縱理論的應用研究情況,以此說明本論文在前人研究基礎上的創(chuàng)新。第三章是實例分析部分,通過具體分析英法譯本對影片中三大文化元素的處理,從社會觀念、商業(yè)目的和主流媒體這三個意識形態(tài)角度分析造成這種操縱差異的原因。第四章是總結部分,概括總結本論文的研究結論,存在的問題和弱點,以及對未來研究方向的建議。本文認為,英法兩種譯本對中文進行了不同力度的操縱,主要體現(xiàn)在功夫術語、俚語和俗語以及隱喻和意向這三大方面。功夫術語的操縱力度不同是由英語世界和法語世界觀眾對待功夫的傳統(tǒng)社會觀念造成的。俚語和俗語操縱力度不同,是因為英譯者和法譯者生活在不同的大眾傳媒背景下,因而受不同的文化制約。隱喻和意象的操縱力度不同,是因為在英譯本中,導演扮演了贊助人的角色,對譯者的工作進行干預?傮w而言,在英法譯本的翻譯過程中,作為社會觀念(觀眾)、大眾媒體(譯者)和商業(yè)目的(贊助人)的三大意識形態(tài)一直在對翻譯的過程施加影響力,從而造成了對不同論域采取不同的處理方法。
[Abstract]:Wang Jiawei's film "the Grandmaster" has won high praise both at home and abroad, and the film's lines are of great research value. In this paper, two English and French versions of the Chinese lines of the Master of the Generation are selected to analyze the different translation techniques, the force of manipulation and the ideological reasons behind the manipulation of the two versions through manipulation theory. In this paper, a new translation theory, namely, the theory of translation manipulation based on Bassnett's theory of cultural turn, is selected for the study. The theory of translation manipulation, put forward by Basnette and Lefevere after the 1990s, breaks the traditional view of faithfulness and betrayal of duality and provides a new perspective for translation studies. The thesis also hopes that through the analysis of the English and French versions of the subtitle, more translators will understand and apply this theory. At the same time, we can also use this theory to show the cultural and ideological differences behind the English and French languages. In order to enrich the cultural perspective of individuals, promote multicultural views to do their utmost. This paper is divided into four chapters, the first chapter is a brief introduction of the paper, mainly introduces the background of the research, let readers understand the purpose and significance of this paper, and clearly understand the framework of the paper. The second chapter is a theoretical framework and literature review. The theoretical framework introduces the background and basis of the theory of manipulation, Lefevere and Bassnett's contributions to the theory, the specific content of the theory and its application and influence. The literature review part collects and analyzes the previous researches on subtitle translation and the application of manipulation theory to illustrate the innovation of this thesis on the basis of previous studies. The third chapter is the case analysis part, through the concrete analysis of the English and French versions of the three major cultural elements in the treatment of the film, from the social concept, commercial purpose and the mainstream media from the three ideological angles to analyze the reasons for the manipulation of the difference. The fourth chapter is a summary of the research conclusions, existing problems and weaknesses, as well as suggestions for the future research direction. This paper holds that the two versions of English and French manipulate Chinese in different ways, mainly in the following three aspects: kung fu terms, slang and colloquial expressions, metaphor and intention. The different manipulation of kung fu terms is caused by the traditional social concept of the audience in the English and French world to deal with kung fu. Slang and colloquial manipulation are different because English translators and French translators live in different mass media backgrounds, so they are restricted by different cultures. The manipulation of metaphor and imagery is different because the director acts as a patron and interferes with the translator's work in the English translation. Generally speaking, in the process of translation of English and French versions, three ideologies, as social concepts (audience), mass media (translators) and commercial purposes (sponsors), have been exerting influence on the process of translation. As a result, different treatment methods are adopted for different domains.
