【摘要】：委婉語(yǔ)是說(shuō)話人間接地表達(dá)個(gè)人思想感情時(shí)使用的一種特殊的語(yǔ)言表達(dá)方式。英語(yǔ)委婉語(yǔ)不僅包括某些詞語(yǔ)、短語(yǔ)和句子;同時(shí)還包括某些肢體語(yǔ)言或特定情境下人們相互溝通使用的特殊形式。英語(yǔ)委婉語(yǔ)可以幫助說(shuō)話人或者聽話人掩飾某種不快或糟糕的事實(shí),還可以幫助人們?cè)谌穗H溝通中保留面子,避免尷尬。因此,委婉語(yǔ)是一種非常重要的人際溝通策略,常見于人們的日常社會(huì)活動(dòng)中。英語(yǔ)委婉語(yǔ)是幫助人們協(xié)調(diào)人際關(guān)系的一大重要語(yǔ)言手段,且委婉語(yǔ)的使用同樣可以幫助人們改善溝通效果,令對(duì)話雙方保持和諧的人際關(guān)系。作為英語(yǔ)語(yǔ)言中的一大重要部分,委婉語(yǔ)一直受研究者的關(guān)注。語(yǔ)言學(xué)家已經(jīng)從不同角度出發(fā)研究了委婉語(yǔ),包括詞匯學(xué)、句法學(xué)、語(yǔ)義學(xué)、語(yǔ)用學(xué)、社會(huì)語(yǔ)言學(xué)、認(rèn)知語(yǔ)言學(xué)等,并取得了豐富的研究成果。同時(shí),這些研究還為未來(lái)的委婉語(yǔ)研究奠定了一定基礎(chǔ)。根據(jù)關(guān)聯(lián)理論,本文設(shè)定以下研究問(wèn)題:說(shuō)話人怎樣說(shuō)出委婉語(yǔ)?聽話人如何理解委婉語(yǔ)?導(dǎo)致委婉表達(dá)失敗的因素是什么?本文作者采用個(gè)案研究,選定英劇《唐頓莊園(第一季)》中的委婉語(yǔ)作為研究對(duì)象。在關(guān)聯(lián)理論的指導(dǎo)下,從說(shuō)話人和聽話人的角度,對(duì)委婉語(yǔ)做更深層次的分析和解釋。研究發(fā)現(xiàn),在委婉語(yǔ)表達(dá)中,說(shuō)話人通過(guò)尋找最佳關(guān)聯(lián)和語(yǔ)境作用下的相關(guān)性,創(chuàng)造可替代性的相關(guān);在委婉語(yǔ)理解中,聽話人通過(guò)發(fā)現(xiàn)關(guān)聯(lián)前提和定位關(guān)聯(lián)結(jié)論,理解委婉語(yǔ);造成委婉語(yǔ)交際失敗的原因主要有兩點(diǎn):一是不確定的認(rèn)知環(huán)境,二是不能建立相關(guān)的關(guān)聯(lián)。在關(guān)聯(lián)理論框架下研究《唐頓莊園(第一季)》中的委婉語(yǔ)具有重要意義。首先,可以進(jìn)一步豐富委婉語(yǔ)的研究成果;其次,可以進(jìn)一步擴(kuò)大關(guān)聯(lián)理論的應(yīng)用范圍;再次,可以幫助人們更好地理解《唐頓莊園(第一季)》;另外,還可以為電視戲劇研究提供新的參考。
[Abstract]:Euphemism is a special way of expressing one's thoughts and feelings indirectly. English euphemism includes not only some words, phrases and sentences, but also some body language or special forms of communication used by people in specific situations. English euphemism can help the speaker or hearer to conceal some unpleasant or bad facts, but also help people save face in interpersonal communication and avoid embarrassment. Therefore, euphemism is a very important interpersonal communication strategy, which is often used in people's daily social activities. English euphemism is an important language means to help people to coordinate their interpersonal relationship, and the use of euphemism can also help people to improve the communication effect and maintain a harmonious interpersonal relationship between the two sides of the dialogue. As an important part of English language, euphemism has always been concerned by researchers. Linguists have studied euphemism from different perspectives, including lexicology, syntax, semantics, pragmatics, sociolinguistics, cognitive linguistics and so on. At the same time, these studies also lay a foundation for the future study of euphemism. According to relevance theory, this paper sets out the following research questions: how can the speaker say euphemism? How do hearers understand euphemism? What are the factors that lead to the failure of euphemism? The author chooses the euphemism in Downton Abbey (season 1) as a case study. Under the guidance of relevance theory, euphemism is further analyzed and explained from the perspective of speaker and hearer. The study found that in euphemism expression, the speaker creates substitutable relevance by looking for the best relevance and contextual relevance, while in euphemism understanding, hearers find relevance premises and locate relevance conclusions. There are two main reasons for the failure of euphemism communication: one is the uncertain cognitive environment and the other is the failure to establish the correlation. It is important to study the euphemism in Downton Abbey (first season) under the framework of relevance theory. First, it can further enrich the research results of euphemism; secondly, it can further expand the application of relevance theory; thirdly, it can help people understand Downton Abbey (season 1) better; in addition, It can also provide a new reference for TV drama research.
