語值與索緒爾的意義理論

  本文從語言哲學(xué)的角度研究了索緒爾《普通語言學(xué)教程》(簡稱《教程》)的關(guān)鍵概念“語值”。“語值”,即語言符號(hào)的價(jià)值,是《教程》中的一個(gè)核心概念,它涵蓋了譬如“單位”、“具體實(shí)體”和“現(xiàn)實(shí)性”等概念,因而被認(rèn)為是索緒爾思想體系中最重要的概念之一。索緒爾把“語值”看作是一種產(chǎn)生于語言系統(tǒng)的意義,并且能夠在語言系統(tǒng)的各個(gè)層面得以實(shí)現(xiàn);诖,本文提出了三個(gè)研究問題:(1)在索緒爾普通語言學(xué)理論中,語言單位是被如何確定和描述的?(2)在索緒爾的語言系統(tǒng)中,這些語言單位是如何獲得和實(shí)現(xiàn)作為其意義的語值的?(3)就語言哲學(xué)視角看,索緒爾為何將“語值”概念化為這些語言單位的意義?作為一項(xiàng)定性的研究,本文主要依賴于對《教程》文本的解讀,并由此來構(gòu)建概念框架。該框架包含對任意性原則、同一性問題、語值的定義以及兩種系統(tǒng)關(guān)系的討論。在此概念框架下,研究分析了“語值”在語言各個(gè)層面的實(shí)現(xiàn)情況。通過討論與分析,以上三個(gè)研究問題逐漸得到解答,并表現(xiàn)為以下三個(gè)研究發(fā)現(xiàn)。首先,語言單位被認(rèn)定為是“在語鏈中排除前后的要素,作為某一概念的能指的一段音響”(索緒爾2011:104),并表現(xiàn)在三個(gè)語言層面:在音位層面,語言單位...
