康拉德《在西方的注視下》的元小說(shuō)敘事策略研究

《在西方的注視下》是約瑟夫·康拉德第三部、也是最后一部重要的政治小說(shuō),通常被認(rèn)為是康拉德最出色的作品之一。正如F.R.利維斯所說(shuō),“它是非常地出色,因而一定要算在可以穩(wěn)定確立康拉德作為英國(guó)大師之一的那些作品中”。 本文根據(jù)元小說(shuō)相關(guān)理論與創(chuàng)作實(shí)踐,并結(jié)合敘事學(xué)的研究方法,主要探討《在西方的注視下》中的元小說(shuō)敘事策略及其所體現(xiàn)的康拉德的藝術(shù)觀和哲學(xué)觀。論文分為引言、正文、結(jié)語(yǔ)三大部分。引言部分首先概括國(guó)內(nèi)外對(duì)《在西方的注視下》的研究成果,重點(diǎn)說(shuō)明本論文的選題依據(jù)和研究意義。正文部分由三章構(gòu)成。第一章簡(jiǎn)要介紹元小說(shuō)的各種定義,界定元小說(shuō)的突出特征和共同特征,同時(shí)簡(jiǎn)要闡明了元小說(shuō)與后現(xiàn)代主義之間的關(guān)系。在此基礎(chǔ)上,歸納了兩類(lèi)主要的元小說(shuō)敘事策略,即暴露敘事虛構(gòu)性策略和打破框架策略。第二章重點(diǎn)研究了元小說(shuō)敘事策略在《在西方的注視下》中的具體運(yùn)用。首先,“中國(guó)盒子”敘事結(jié)構(gòu)以及多重?cái)⑹乱暯堑倪\(yùn)用及其轉(zhuǎn)換打破了傳統(tǒng)的敘事方式,演繹了一個(gè)典型的元小說(shuō)框架;其次,雙重?cái)⑹虏呗栽谛≌f(shuō)中的運(yùn)用很大程度上體現(xiàn)了該文本的元小說(shuō)特征。此外,《在西方的注視下》使用了互文性技巧增強(qiáng)文本的虛構(gòu)性,如它同許多文學(xué)作家及...
