新聞發(fā)布會中英語委婉語的語用研究

委婉語是人類交際中一種普遍的語言現(xiàn)象,也是人類為了達(dá)到理想的交際結(jié)果而使用的一種語言策略。目前,英語委婉語的起源被普遍的歸結(jié)于宗教中的禁忌語,這些宗教禁忌語進(jìn)一步發(fā)展成為交際中粗俗、生硬表達(dá)方式的替代語,它們幾乎存在于人類社會中的各各方面,因此,委婉語不僅是一種語言學(xué)現(xiàn)象,同時也是一種社會現(xiàn)象。這一現(xiàn)象引起了中外很多語言學(xué)家以及社會學(xué)家的濃厚興趣,他們從修辭學(xué)、社會學(xué)、語用學(xué)等多方面對英語委婉語的定義、特點(diǎn)、使用等進(jìn)行深入和系統(tǒng)的研究。盡管對英語委婉語的相關(guān)研究并不少,但這些研究大多集中于修辭、語義和詞典編纂等幾方面,很少有人對像新聞發(fā)布會這樣特定語言環(huán)境下使用的委婉語進(jìn)行深入研究。 新聞發(fā)布會是各國政府為直接向新聞界以及公眾發(fā)布消息,解釋重大事件而舉辦的活動。語言是新聞發(fā)布會的重要載體之一,同時也是新聞發(fā)言人、政治家或外交官等用來捍衛(wèi)自身以及國家利益的有力工具。政府舉辦的新聞發(fā)布會中通常會涉及到政治、軍事、外交等敏感問題,而發(fā)言者的語言運(yùn)用將會直接影響一個國家的形象及利益。在這種語境下,發(fā)言者經(jīng)常會采用含蓄、婉轉(zhuǎn)的委婉語作為他們的語言策略,從而避免在處理敏感話題時使用刺激性語言。因...
