　　翻譯是不同語言文化交流的重要手段。傳統(tǒng)的翻譯理論研究一般是建立在雙方文化對等的前提之下,力求盡可能的忠實于原作品。但文化的交流卻往往是不平等的。強(qiáng)勢文化總是享有更多的文化話語權(quán),翻譯不可避免地受此影響。尤其隨著文化全球化的進(jìn)程不斷加快,政治,經(jīng)濟(jì)發(fā)展的不均衡,使得強(qiáng)勢文化與弱勢文化間產(chǎn)生了巨大的文化差異,權(quán)力差異。二者之間的文化交流呈現(xiàn)出嚴(yán)重的不平衡性,也就隨之產(chǎn)生了文化霸權(quán)。 后殖民主義從殖民視角下來審視不同歷史條件下的翻譯,深刻分析在譯文的變形與置換背后,兩種文化之間的權(quán)利運作和權(quán)利斗爭。揭示出在失衡的斗爭中,翻譯曾是非常重要的殖民工具,是強(qiáng)勢文化對弱勢文化實施文化霸權(quán)的有效手段。 在揭露翻譯在文化交流中曾經(jīng)所起到不光彩作用的同時,我們需要分析其中的原因,同時也該認(rèn)識到翻譯也是反殖民主義,反文化霸權(quán)的重要手段。譯者作為翻譯活動的具體操作者在新的翻譯標(biāo)準(zhǔn)下有很大的自主性。因此,弱勢文化在文化霸權(quán)的背景下,應(yīng)積極尋找翻譯應(yīng)對措施,展現(xiàn)譯者的主觀能動性,爭取更多的文化話語權(quán),消除文化霸權(quán)。
