　　詩人卡爾·桑德堡是著名的傳記作家,也是美國新詩運(yùn)動的代表性人物。他所處的十九世紀(jì)末二十世紀(jì)初正值美國工業(yè)化運(yùn)動洶涌澎湃之際,大批的移民涌入,渴望實(shí)現(xiàn)他們的美國夢。與同時(shí)期詩人龐德和艾略特“向國外尋求創(chuàng)作靈感”不同,桑德堡具有強(qiáng)烈的本土意識。他對芝城的透徹描寫為自己贏得了“芝加哥詩人”的美譽(yù)。而“工業(yè)美國桂冠詩人”的稱號則是對其詩歌成就的恰如其分的肯定。 桑德堡一生創(chuàng)作詩集數(shù)十部,人們閱讀最廣、評論最多的即來自于其詩歌創(chuàng)作的芝加哥階段(1912-1926),其中以《芝加哥詩集》最為突出。在這部詩集中,詩人對芝城表現(xiàn)了極大的關(guān)注。本文立足于此,采取傳統(tǒng)的主題研究及社會歷史研究的方法,對桑德堡的《芝加哥詩集》進(jìn)行初步探索,旨在發(fā)掘其中的芝加哥主題,即桑德堡的芝加哥情結(jié)。 “文學(xué)中的城市”并非簡單的城市在文學(xué)中的再現(xiàn),而是在此基礎(chǔ)上加入了作者獨(dú)特的想象性現(xiàn)實(shí),即作者對城市的價(jià)值評價(jià)。城市與文學(xué)具有共同的文本性。當(dāng)城市提供給文學(xué)寫作現(xiàn)實(shí)的同時(shí),文學(xué)文本也賦予城市一種想象性的現(xiàn)實(shí)。 本論文共分四章。 第一章簡要介紹了桑德堡的芝加哥情結(jié),即芝加哥親和力與芝加哥體悟的結(jié)合...
