【摘要】:D.H.勞倫斯(David Herbert Lawrence,1885-1930)是二十世紀(jì)英國(guó)文學(xué)史上杰出的小說(shuō)家之一,也是英國(guó)文學(xué)中極有爭(zhēng)議的人物之一。他是一位自傳色彩較濃和情感型的作家,較多地受到生活經(jīng)歷和時(shí)代的影響,并把這種影響投射到他的文學(xué)創(chuàng)作中。勞倫斯把小說(shuō)看成人類表達(dá)思想情感方式的最高形式,認(rèn)為小說(shuō)是人們理解現(xiàn)實(shí)的最好方法。他不僅以長(zhǎng)篇小說(shuō)聞名,也以許多中短篇小說(shuō)著稱,它們所體現(xiàn)的強(qiáng)烈的個(gè)性與鮮明的人物形象讓人印象深刻。雖然勞倫斯的寫作重心一直放在長(zhǎng)篇小說(shuō)上,稱自己寫中短篇小說(shuō)是為了彌補(bǔ)收入的不足,但事實(shí)上他的中短篇小說(shuō)所取得的成就是不容忽視的。勞倫斯從1907年開(kāi)始從事短篇小說(shuō)的創(chuàng)作,一生創(chuàng)作了大約70篇中短篇小說(shuō),雖然各時(shí)期的中短篇小說(shuō)題材多樣,風(fēng)格不一,但常與他的長(zhǎng)篇小說(shuō)互相呼應(yīng),從中可以窺見(jiàn)他的創(chuàng)作主題和藝術(shù)特色。 本文主要由緒論、正文和結(jié)語(yǔ)三部分組成。論文的緒論部分簡(jiǎn)要介紹了國(guó)內(nèi)研究勞倫斯的成果,勞倫斯創(chuàng)作的中短篇小說(shuō)集以及他的文學(xué)地位,并指明了寫此論文的目的和意義。 論文的主體部分由三章構(gòu)成。第一章介紹了勞倫斯中短篇小說(shuō)題材的多樣性。題材的多樣性分為四類:礦工生活的題材,兩性沖突的題材,,涉及戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)的題材,回歸自然的題材。其中兩性沖突的題材在勞倫斯短篇小說(shuō)中占據(jù)最大的比例,這些反映男女情愛(ài)和婚姻生活的作品居于統(tǒng)治的地位。 第二章介紹了勞倫斯中短篇小說(shuō)的異化主題。異化的主題分為三類:人與自然關(guān)系的異化,人性的異化,人與人之間的異化。勞倫斯生活的時(shí)代是資本主義工業(yè)迅速發(fā)展的時(shí)代,他以小說(shuō)家深邃的洞察力發(fā)覺(jué)到人類在工業(yè)文明的進(jìn)步中所而臨的種種無(wú)助的異化感,在他的一系列作品中展現(xiàn)了社會(huì)的異化現(xiàn)象,并嘗試尋求拯救人類的途徑。他立足于人與自然、人與人之間關(guān)系的探討來(lái)向世人傳達(dá)他的救世思想。 第三章介紹了勞倫斯中短篇小說(shuō)的藝術(shù)特色。藝術(shù)特色分為四類:反諷的運(yùn)用,對(duì)比的運(yùn)用,象征的運(yùn)用,心理分析的運(yùn)用。其中象征的運(yùn)用包括了自然意象象征、主題性象征和神話原型象征;心理分析的運(yùn)用包括了直接和間接內(nèi)心獨(dú)白的使用,善用自然烘托人物的內(nèi)心變化和以全知敘述傳達(dá)人物內(nèi)心世界。象征和心理分析的運(yùn)用無(wú)疑是勞倫斯最主要的藝術(shù)手法,此外他也運(yùn)用了反諷、對(duì)比的手法,這些手法共同構(gòu)成了勞倫斯中短篇小說(shuō)的藝術(shù)特色。 論文的結(jié)語(yǔ)部分總結(jié)了勞倫斯在英國(guó)文學(xué)史上的地位和貢獻(xiàn),概括了勞倫斯中短篇小說(shuō)具有的獨(dú)特個(gè)性和藝術(shù)魅力以及勞倫斯創(chuàng)作思想上的不足之處。
[Abstract]:D.H. Laurence (David Herbert Lawrence,1885-1930 is not only one of the outstanding novelists in the history of English literature in the 20th century, but also one of the most controversial figures in English literature. He is a writer with strong color and emotion in autobiography, which is more influenced by life experience and times, and projects this influence into his literary creation. Laurence regards the novel as the highest form of human expression of thought and emotion, and holds that the novel is the best way for people to understand reality. He is famous not only for novels, but also for many short and medium novels, which embody strong personality and vivid characters. Although Laurence's writing focus has always been on novels, saying that he wrote short and medium novels in order to make up for the lack of income, but in fact, his achievements in medium and short novels can not be ignored. Laurence has been engaged in the creation of short stories since 1907 and has created about 70 short and medium novels in his lifetime. Although the themes and styles of short and medium novels in each period are various, they often echo with his novels. We can see his creative theme and artistic characteristics. This paper is mainly composed of introduction, main body and conclusion. The introduction part of the paper briefly introduces the achievements of domestic research on Laurence, the collection of short and medium novels created by Laurence and his literary status, and points out the purpose and significance of writing this paper. The main part of the paper consists of three chapters. The first chapter introduces the diversity of the themes of Laurence's short and medium novels. The diversity of themes is divided into four categories: the theme of miner's life, the subject of gender conflict, the subject of war, and the subject of returning to nature. Among them, the theme of gender conflict accounts for the largest proportion in Laurence's short stories, and these works, which reflect the love and marriage of men and women, dominate. The second chapter introduces the alienation theme of Laurence's short and medium novels. The theme of alienation is divided into three categories: the alienation of the relationship between man and nature, the alienation of human nature and the alienation between man and man. The era in which Laurence lived was an era of rapid development of capitalist industry. With the profound insight of the novelist, he found all kinds of helplessness and alienation of human beings in the progress of industrial civilization. In a series of his works, he shows the alienation of society and tries to find a way to save human beings. Based on the discussion of the relationship between man and nature and between man and man, he conveys his thought of saving the world to the world. The third chapter introduces the artistic characteristics of Laurence's short and medium novels. Artistic features are divided into four categories: the use of irony, the use of contrast, the use of symbols, and the use of psychoanalysis. Among them, the use of symbols includes natural image symbols, thematic symbols and mythological archetypal symbols. The use of psychoanalysis includes the use of direct and indirect inner monologues, the use of nature to set off the inner changes of the characters and the transmission of the inner world of the characters with omniscience narration. The use of symbolism and psychoanalysis is undoubtedly the most important artistic technique of Laurence. In addition, he also uses irony and contrast, which together constitute the artistic characteristics of Lauren's short and medium novels. The conclusion part of the thesis summarizes the position and contribution of Laurence in the history of English literature, and summarizes the unique personality and artistic charm of Laurence's short and medium novels, as well as the shortcomings of Laurence's creative thought.
