艾米莉·狄金森(1830-1886)是歷史上最為偉大和獨(dú)特的詩人之一。盡管她終生隱居,但卻對世界有著非常獨(dú)特和深入的理解。她的詩歌主要以愛情、宗教、自然和死亡為主題。在出版的1775首詩歌中,其中以自然為主題的詩歌就有500多首。在狄金森時(shí)期,美國流行著兩大思潮——清教主義和超驗(yàn)主義。狄金森深受這兩大思想的影響。她的自然主題詩歌所承載的自然觀往往既有清教主義的痕跡又有超驗(yàn)主義的特點(diǎn)。由于這兩種思想對于自然的觀點(diǎn)截然相反,因此,狄金森的自然主題詩歌有時(shí)充滿著對自然的熱愛,有時(shí)卻又帶有恐怖的情緒。而國內(nèi)外學(xué)者對艾米莉·狄金森的詩歌從語言學(xué)角度的分析尚待進(jìn)一步發(fā)展。因此,本文擬從評價(jià)理論的角度分析艾米莉·狄金森矛盾的自然觀。 評價(jià)理論是對韓禮德的人際元功能的繼承和發(fā)展。該理論聚焦于語篇語義層面而非社會語境或詞匯語法層面,是語篇分析的有利工具,尤其對狄金森詩歌不符傳統(tǒng)語法規(guī)則的特點(diǎn)尤為適用。評價(jià)理論擁有三大子系統(tǒng)——態(tài)度系統(tǒng)、介入系統(tǒng)和級差系統(tǒng)。這三大子系統(tǒng)構(gòu)成了一套語篇分析的完整體系。因此,本文擬通過應(yīng)用評價(jià)理論來分析艾米莉·狄金森自然主題的詩歌,并最終得出結(jié)論：艾米莉·狄金森的自然觀...
