論《磚巷》的敘事空間建構(gòu)

【摘要】：莫妮卡·阿里憑借處女作《磚巷》成為當(dāng)代英國文壇中的一顆耀眼新星。她被英國《格蘭特》雜志冠以“2003年最杰出的英國青年小說家”的美譽�！洞u巷》是第一部以生活在英國的孟加拉女性移民為主題的小說,它向讀者展示了一個五彩斑斕的世界。本文以加布里埃爾·佐倫的敘事空間理論為基礎(chǔ),從地志空間層、時空體層次以及文本層次三個方面分析《磚巷》文本中空間的垂直結(jié)構(gòu),討論各層空間對小說塑造人物形象、推動情節(jié)發(fā)展,增強藝術(shù)感染力起到的重要作用。《磚巷》的地志空間由物理空間,精神空間以及人物外表構(gòu)成。物理空間中物體常具有象征意義,它也具有塑造小說人物和推動情節(jié)發(fā)展的作用。精神空間是孟加拉女性爭取話語權(quán),與命運和宗教消極影響抗?fàn)幍膽?zhàn)場。不論是人物對衣著的選擇還是人物的身體都暗示著人物在意識層面發(fā)生的主觀變化或受到的壓制。時空體的空間包括共時和歷時兩種關(guān)系。在共時空間中,本文分析了相對靜止空間中人物的活動,探討了兩代移民對兩種文化的態(tài)度以及對身份的思考,分析了磚巷社區(qū)的社會空間,再現(xiàn)了孟加拉男權(quán)社會中女性受到的限制和壓迫。在歷時空間部分,本文用女主人公的生活軌跡,女主人公丈夫的生活軌跡和女主人公成長軌跡三個事例討論跨越空間界限的人物活動不僅是人物思想變化的反映,也對情節(jié)發(fā)展具有推動作用。小說的文本的空間受到語言的選擇性,文本的線性時序及視角結(jié)構(gòu)的影響。本文論述了作者采用陌生化手法重現(xiàn)讀者所熟悉的環(huán)境以達到引起讀者注意并讓讀者身臨其境體驗女主人公的經(jīng)歷的效果。在文本的線性時序部分,磚巷描寫出現(xiàn)的先后順序傳達出磚巷與周圍環(huán)境或統(tǒng)一或分離的關(guān)系。在視角結(jié)構(gòu)部分,本文論述了所敘述的特定空間磚巷(此在)和這種文化存在的整體空間孟加拉國(彼在)之間的關(guān)系,凸顯了移民心中的孟家拉和現(xiàn)實中孟加拉之間的差距,分析了差距形成的原因,闡述了流散對移民的影響。在佐倫的空間敘事理論指導(dǎo)下,對莫妮卡·阿里的《磚巷》進行細(xì)致分析使文本呈現(xiàn)出斑駁的空間。對這些空間的探討不僅為欣賞這部小說提供了新的視角,也證明了佐倫的空間敘事理論在文本分析中的實際作用。
[Abstract]:Monica Ali has become a dazzling star in contemporary English literature by virtue of her debut Brick Lane. She was praised by Grant magazine as "the most Outstanding British Young novelist of 2003". Brick Lane is the first novel with the theme of Bengal female immigrants living in the UK. It shows readers a colorful world. Based on Gabrielle Zoran's theory of narrative space, this paper analyzes the vertical structure of space in Brick Lane text from three aspects: geological space layer, space-time body level and text level, and discusses the portrayal of characters in the novel by each layer of space. It plays an important role in promoting the development of plot and enhancing the artistic appeal. The geological space of Brick Lane is composed of physical space, spiritual space and the appearance of characters. Objects in physical space are often symbolic, and they also play a role in shaping novel characters and promoting plot development. Spiritual space is the battlefield for Bengal women to fight for the right of speech and the negative influence of fate and religion. Whether it is the character's choice of clothing or the character's body, it implies the subjective change or suppression of the character at the level of consciousness. The space of space-time body includes synchronic and diachronic relations. In the synchronic space, this paper analyzes the activities of the characters in the relatively static space, probes into the attitudes of the two generations of immigrants towards the two cultures and their thinking on their identity, and analyzes the social space of the Brick Lane community. It reproduces the restrictions and oppression on women in the patriarchal society of Bangladesh. In the diachronic space part, this paper uses three examples: the life trajectory of the heroine, the life track of the heroine's husband and the growth track of the heroine to discuss that the activities of the characters that cross the spatial boundary are not only a reflection of the change of the character's thought. It also plays a role in promoting the development of the plot. The space of the text of the novel is influenced by the choice of language, the linear timing of the text and the structure of the perspective. This paper discusses the effect of defamiliarization to reproduce the environment familiar to the reader in order to attract the reader's attention and let the reader experience the heroine's experience in the presence of the reader. In the linear sequence part of the text, the sequence of brick roadway description conveys the relationship between brick roadway and its surrounding environment or unity or separation. In the part of perspective structure, this paper discusses the relationship between the specific space brick alleys (here) and the overall space of this culture Bangladesh (he is), which highlights the gap between Meng Jiala in the hearts of immigrants and Bangladesh in reality. This paper analyzes on the reasons for the formation of the gap, and expounds the influence of dispersion on the immigrants. Under the guidance of Zoran's spatial narrative theory, this paper makes a detailed analysis of Monica Ali's Brick Lane, which makes the text show mottled space. The discussion of these spaces not only provides a new perspective for appreciating the novel, but also proves the practical role of Zoran's spatial narrative theory in text analysis.
