光學(xué)功能層在柔性封裝OLED中的應(yīng)用

【摘要】:近年來,柔性頂發(fā)射有機(jī)電致發(fā)光器件(OLED)以其白發(fā)光器件特有的高對比度、寬色域、低功耗以及輕、薄、可彎曲等優(yōu)點(diǎn),在移動(dòng)顯示領(lǐng)域表現(xiàn)出優(yōu)勢,取得了越來越大的市場份額,也成為了顯示領(lǐng)域的理論研究和技術(shù)開發(fā)的熱點(diǎn)。然而,頂發(fā)射OLED器件的視角、出光效率的提升等仍是尚未得到滿意解決的問題。柔性結(jié)構(gòu)的帶入使其又出現(xiàn)了新的問題。和以往采用(玻璃、金屬)平板封裝的剛性器件相比,雖然薄膜封裝具有良好的彎折特性,但與水氧隔絕性能極佳的玻璃封裝蓋板相比,薄膜層的封裝效果首先成為了大家的關(guān)注熱點(diǎn)。薄膜封裝逐漸發(fā)展出有機(jī)無機(jī)多層疊加的復(fù)合封裝層結(jié)構(gòu),大大提高了 OLED器件的壽命,達(dá)到了可以應(yīng)用的水平。但是,與(玻璃)平板封裝相比,薄膜封裝層對器件出光特性有負(fù)面影響,從而影響到了器件的效率和功耗,這會(huì)對OLED在移動(dòng)顯示應(yīng)用的優(yōu)勢有一定的削弱。因此改善薄膜封裝對器件出光特性造成的影響具有重要作用。本文重點(diǎn)針對與薄膜封裝相關(guān)的光學(xué)功能層對柔性頂發(fā)射OLED器件出光特性影響進(jìn)行研究。首先從薄膜封裝以及器件結(jié)構(gòu)入手,在理論方面分析了器件出光特性受封裝相關(guān)結(jié)構(gòu)的影響,認(rèn)為主要是由于封裝薄膜層影響了器件出光通路的相關(guān)光學(xué)結(jié)構(gòu),從而改變了之前按玻璃平板封裝優(yōu)化的光學(xué)結(jié)構(gòu)和相關(guān)參數(shù)引起的,這種假設(shè)通過實(shí)驗(yàn)和分析得到了證實(shí)。之后我們利用光學(xué)模型針對光學(xué)功能層的參數(shù)進(jìn)行模擬分析,根據(jù)結(jié)果我們采用通過在原有剛性器件結(jié)構(gòu)內(nèi)最上層的覆蓋層(capping layer)和柔性封裝薄膜之間加入一層低折射率間隔層對器件出光效率進(jìn)行改善的方案,通過模擬優(yōu)化實(shí)驗(yàn)方案,最后進(jìn)行實(shí)驗(yàn)驗(yàn)證。在我們的實(shí)驗(yàn)中,薄膜封裝頂發(fā)射OLED器件的效率從玻璃蓋板封裝參照器件的64%提升到了 84%,證實(shí)了這是一種切實(shí)有效的改善柔性封裝OLED器件出光特性的方法,并為柔性封裝的光學(xué)改善提供了思路。
[Abstract]:In recent years, flexible top emitting organic electroluminescent devices (OLED) have shown their advantages in the field of mobile display due to their unique advantages of high contrast, wide color gamut, low power consumption, light, thin and flexible, etc. It has gained more and more market share, and has also become a hot spot in theory research and technology development in display field. However, the angle of view of top emitting OLED devices and the improvement of optical efficiency are still not solved satisfactorily. The introduction of flexible structure makes it appear new problems. Compared with the rigid devices used in the (glass, metal) flat packaging in the past, although the thin film packaging has good bending characteristics, it is compared with the glass packaging cover plate which has excellent water-oxygen isolation performance. The packaging effect of thin film layer has become the focus of attention. The composite packaging layer structure of organic and inorganic multilayer superposition has been developed in thin film packaging, which greatly improves the life of OLED devices and reaches the applicable level. However, compared with the (glass) flat panel packaging, the film packaging layer has a negative impact on the optical characteristics of the device, thus affecting the efficiency and power consumption of the device, which will weaken the advantage of OLED in mobile display applications. Therefore, it is important to improve the effect of film packaging on the output characteristics of the device. In this paper, the effects of optical functional layers related to film packaging on the output characteristics of flexible top emitting OLED devices are studied. Firstly, from the aspects of film packaging and device structure, the paper analyzes theoretically that the optical characteristics of the device are affected by the packaging structure, which is mainly due to the influence of the packaging film layer on the optical structure of the output path of the device. Therefore, the optical structure and related parameters optimized for glass plate packaging are changed. This hypothesis is confirmed by experiments and analysis. Then we use the optical model to simulate and analyze the parameters of the optical functional layer. According to the results, we adopt a scheme to improve the output efficiency of the device by adding a layer of low refractive index spacer between the top layer of (capping layer) and the flexible packaging film in the original rigid device structure, and optimize the experimental scheme by simulation. Finally, experimental verification is carried out. In our experiment, the efficiency of top-emitting OLED devices in thin film packaging has increased from 64% to 84% of the reference devices for glass cover packaging, which proves that this is a practical and effective method to improve the output characteristics of flexible packaging OLED devices. It also provides ideas for the optical improvement of flexible packaging.
