In和“在……里”的認知語義對比研究

【摘要】:本研究基于認知語言學的意象圖式理論,對英語空間介詞In和漢語介詞短語“在……里”的多義性進行探討和分析,考察二者語義擴展機制的異同。本研究采用定性分析和對比分析的研究方法,對In和“在……里”展開語義分析。In的語料主要來自英國國家語料庫,“在……里”的所有語料來自于現(xiàn)代漢語語料庫,另外還參考Babel英漢平行語料庫和盧偉英漢雙語平行語料庫以方便對比研究。本研究對隨機抽取的In和“在……里”分別約2000例語料進行觀察,分析其意象圖式,將其意義歸納為空間義和隱喻義兩大類。然后分析概括In和“在……里”意象圖式的同質(zhì)性與異質(zhì)性。研究發(fā)現(xiàn):第一,除了二者共同的基本意象圖式,In和“在……里”還共有非典型的幾種意象圖式,均為界標不是三維空間的情況。這些意象圖式具有容納性、包圍性、約束性等共有屬性,當射體為動態(tài)時,二者的意象圖式均具有動態(tài)性。第二,就空間義而言,In的空間義比“在……里”要豐富。因其除共享圖式外,還表征為內(nèi)嵌圖式、覆蓋圖式、凹陷圖式、構(gòu)成圖式等四種圖式。第三,就隱喻義而言,In的隱喻義同樣比“在……里”要豐富。由于意象圖式的隱喻映射,兩者都映射到了時間、領(lǐng)域/范圍、情況、情感、狀態(tài)、氣氛、權(quán)利范圍等認知域。不過,與“在……里”相比,In的隱喻義相對更具有擴展性,因其還擴展出方式、關(guān)系、目的、性質(zhì)、結(jié)果、媒介等意義,而“在……里”僅還映射出一個“在當中”之義。本研究通過意象圖式的描寫解釋,挖掘In和“在……里”認知機制的同質(zhì)性與異質(zhì)性,從而發(fā)現(xiàn)不同文化背景下的人們對空間概念認知的迥異表征,同時證明了詞義的擴展是有理據(jù)的,詞義之間存在著一定的關(guān)聯(lián)性。研究發(fā)現(xiàn)以期對英語教學、對外漢語教學、翻譯和詞典編纂提供可資借鑒的依據(jù)。
[Abstract]:Based on the theory of image schema in cognitive linguistics, the present study deals with English spatial prepositions in and Chinese prepositional phrases. The polysemy of "Li" is discussed and analyzed, and the similarities and differences of semantic extension mechanism between them are investigated. In this study, qualitative analysis and comparative analysis were used to study in and "in". The corpus for developing semantic analysis. In is mainly from the British National Corpus. In addition, we also refer to the Babel English-Chinese parallel Corpus and Lu Wei's English-Chinese bilingual parallel Corpus to facilitate the comparative study. In this study, random sampling of in and "in" in. About 2000 cases were observed and their image schemas were analyzed, and their meanings were divided into two categories: spatial meaning and metaphorical meaning. Then analyze and summarize in and "in." The homogeneity and heterogeneity of image schema. The findings are as follows: first, in addition to the two basic image schemata. There are also several atypical imagery schemas, which are boundary landmarks that are not in three-dimensional space. These image schemas have the common attributes of inclusiveness, encirclement and constraint. When the projectiles are dynamic, their image schemas are dynamic. Second, as far as spatial meaning is concerned, the spatial sense ratio of in is in. "rich". In addition to shared schema, it is also represented as embedded schema, overlay schema, concave schema and composition schema. Thirdly, as far as metaphorical meaning is concerned, the metaphorical meaning of "in" is the same. "rich". Because of the metaphorical mapping of image schemata, both of them are mapped to cognitive domains such as time, domain / scope, situation, emotion, state, atmosphere, right scope and so on. However, with "in." The metaphorical meaning of "Li" is more extensible than that of "in" because it also extends the meaning of mode, relationship, purpose, nature, result, media, etc. "in" only reflects a meaning of "in the middle". Through the descriptive interpretation of image schemata, this study excavates in and in. The homogeneity and heterogeneity of the cognitive mechanism of "Li" shows that people in different cultural backgrounds have different representations of their cognition of spatial concepts. At the same time, it is proved that the extension of word meaning is justified, and there is a certain correlation between the meaning of words. The findings can be used for reference in English teaching, teaching Chinese as a foreign language, translation and dictionary compilation.
